Dr. Chris Stander

M.B.Ch.B. FCS(Ophth)(SA) MMed (Ophth)
Born and educated in South Africa, Dr Chris Stander began his career in medicine at the Medical School of Pretoria, graduating M.B.Ch.B. (Pret) in 1992.

He began his post - graduate training in 1997 as a full-time registrar in the Department of Ophthalmology at Tygerberg Hospital. He qualified with the FCS (Ophth) in October 2000.  In Sept 2001 he qualified in MMed (Ophth) (Stell), and did a thesis on the Orbscan II Topography system.

Dr. Stander went into private practice in 2002 and currently works full time in Milnerton.

Having qualified as a Ophthalmologist he has been appointed as an external examinator for the Eye department, Stellenbosch University, at Tygerberg Hospital.

Dr. Stander is a general Ophthalmologist with a special interest in cataract surgery,  refractive surgery, glaucoma and medical retina.
