Dr Burnet Meyer is a South African from birth. Born and bred in Rustenburg. He later moved to Stellenbosch and obtained M.B.Ch.B. from University of Stellenbosch.
He went into private practice for eight years.He began practicing ophthalmology in 1995.
He received a fellowship from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa in 1999 and also obtained his MMed from Stellenbosch University.
He then entered into full time private practice in Durbanville and offers general ophthalmology services including cataract and refractive surgery,glaucoma surgery, squint surgery and external eye diseases.
He is also a visiting consultant at Stellenbosch University from where he runs the Diabetic Clinic.
He is affiliated with the following:

• Member of Ophthalmic Society of South Africa
• Member of South African Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons
• External examiner for post- and under-graduates
